Barrington Farm School
20 October 2020
Barrington Farm School needs your leaves:

We are continuing to accept food scraps at our farm stand drop-off where we’ll cart them to the back of the farm to be composted.

To do this, we need lots of high-carbon material to get a good balance.

To make things easier for our compost team, we ask for shredded leaves only – so much easier to work with when composting.

If you are mulching leaves and bagging them this season, please consider donating your bagged, shredded leaves to Barrington Farm School.

We’ll even pick up. Simply text us at 401-252-6517 with your address and how many bags of shredded leaves you have.
Support our composting efforts:

  • Chemical-free shredded or mowed leaves: please bring them to our bins by the farm stand in large brown bags.

  • Shredded newspaper, paper bags, other non-toxic carbon sources into our food scrap bins.
  • As our farming season winds down, please continue to stop by the farm stand on Saturdays after 10 a.m. to see what is coming out of the fields.

  • Community service opportunities continue at the farm: 20 + community farmers thus far in October

  • Request a day and time via email to get your family, group, or yourself to the farm
