Update: League outreach to citizens incarcerated in

Prince William County Jail and to recently released citizens

Re-Entry Connections, April 17, 5:30 PM at the Ferlazzo Building

At the Re-Entry Connections event our League provides information on the Ban the Box (BTB) rules. What are the BTB rules?

Ban the Box (BTB) information:

Virginia Code § 15.2-1505.3: This law prohibits public sector employers in Virginia from asking about an applicant's criminal history or pending criminal cases on a job application or before an initial interview.

In 2015, Prince William County's Board of Supervisors voted to establish a BTB policy for county jobs.

To sign up to attend the Re-Entry Connections event, click here.

The Adult Detention Center (ADC) Resource Fair, May 20. The League will participate in the ADC Resource Fair, distributing information on voting and how to vote absentee, if eligible to vote but incarcerated and awaiting trial.

For more information and to sign up to attend, click here.

FIRST CALL FOR THE 2025 LWV VA CONVENTION

JUNE 13-15

The two most important events in the League Biennium are the convention (held during odd-numbered years) and council (even-numbered years). These events are essentially the annual meetings of the organization. At these times the official business is carried out in accordance with the requirements of being a not-for-profit organization. Programs, concurrences, positions adopted, Board members elected, and other business of the League are carried out. The materials for these meetings, sent out in advance, are official documents that show what took place. The last two bienniums are available for reference purposes.

The convention this year will be held in Fredericksburg, VA.
