League of Women Voters of Illinois Launches Illinois Voter Guide
Website offers voters candidate information up and down the ballot
CHICAGO, July 30, 2018 - To help voters learn about candidates before heading to the polls, the League of Women Voters of Illinois (LWVIL) is excited to announce its launch of the Illinois Voter Guide. The guide, available at , empowers voters across the state to access candidate information up and down the ballot in every precinct. Voters can find their ballot, learn about candidates, and print out their choices so they are prepared when they vote.
One of the primary complaints about low turnout in local elections is a lack of knowledge about who's on the ballot and their positions. With that in mind, the Illinois Voter Guide functions as an online voter tool to provide critical information about what's on the ballot in national, state and local elections.
"We hope the Illinois Voter Guide will not only reach members," said Bonnie Cox, president of LWVIL. "But the wider communities we hope to empower through their vote."

The Illinois Voter Guide aggregates information from candidate websites, endorsements, local League questionnaires, and media publications through a partnership with BallotReady. The guide provides nonpartisan information about candidates and referendums on a voter's ballot, plus the opportunity for voters to save their online ballots, either to a smartphone or print. Users can opt-in for emailed election reminders and updates.
Voters can use and enroll in Illinois Voter Guide at .
