Close the Dark Store Loopholes!

The League's Dark Store Loopholes Whiteboard video explains the impact of the Loopholes on property taxes in Wisconsin. If the Legislature does not close the loopholes and you play out the scenario, over time the only taxpayers who will be left to pay are residential and small businesses.


Join us! FIRST MUNICIPAL LOBBY DAY IS
FEBRUARY 20

Municipal officials and staff are invited to participate in the League's first lobby day of the session on Wednesday, February 20. We meet at 9:30 at the Best Western Premier Park Hotel on the Capitol Square. The agenda for the day is as follows:

9:30 -- 10:30 -- League staff provides briefing on issues that will be lobbied on
10:30-12:15 -- Meet with state legislators
12:30-1:30 -- Lunch and Speaker
1:30 -- Adjourn

 Additional Resource from the Wisconsin Policy Forum: Divided Government Returns to Wisconsin: With the election of Democratic Gov. Tony Evers and Republican majorities in both houses of the Legislature, sharing control of state government will be a new experience for many lawmakers who have known only one-party dominance. WEDA Opportunity Zone Workshop & Governor's Conference on Economic Development

The Wisconsin Economic Development Association's Feb. 6 pre-conference workshop is a working session with development partners.

This is a pre-conference session to WEDA’s Governor’s Conference on Economic Development held at the Milwaukee Hilton City Center on February 7 and 8. A discount will be provided to individuals who participate in both the conference and the pre-conference workshop. Details and registration here.
New Records Schedule

The Wisconsin Municipal Records Schedule is an adoptable general schedule that can be used by Wisconsin municipalities for the administration and disposition of public records. It was approved by the Wisconsin Public Records Board in August, 2018.
