MCU's MiCPAC was a HUGE success. More than 40 new groups were represented, and many new members received their pins. MCU's Board meets next in Southeast Michigan on June 10. Our Annual Board meeting will be in Plainwell July 8. There will be some new Directors selected from among current members as we broaden our base. Members are kept informed, have first option to events, and discounts to MCU events.

One way we have effectively organized is by the use of Citizen Task Forces.
A typical task force meets in person about six times over a six month period to
study issues and propose conservative policies and solutions. We are looking at inviting panels on Energy and Health Care, and additional sessions on Education (Phase V) and Property Rights (Phase II). Participants pay their own expenses. They are expected to
bring experience and expertise on the subject, a commitment to conservative governance, and the ability and willingness to donate time and work in a collegial group atmosphere. Meetings are well organized and of limited duration, typically 90 minites and usually in Lansing. Additional phone or subcommittee meetings are sometimes used.

NO TO PARIS ACCORD!
U.S. President Donald Trump has told "confidants," that he plans to leave a Paris international agreement on climate change. The summit of G7 wealthy nations pitted Trump against the leaders of Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Canada and Japan on several issues, with European diplomats frustrated at having to revisit questions they had hoped were long settled.
Trump, who has previously called global warming a hoax, came under concerted pressure from the other leaders to honor the 2015 Paris Agreement on curbing carbon emissions. Although he tweeted that he would make a decision next week, his apparent reluctance to embrace the first legally binding global climate deal that was signed by 195 countries clearly annoyed German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
"The entire discussion about climate was very difficult, if not to say very dissatisfying," she told reporters. "There are no indications whether the United States will stay in the Paris Agreement or not."
According to alarmists, if the USA were to pull out of the Paris Accord the World Temperature might rise 0.3 degrees C in the next 83 years. Link Really? There is no way their computer models can reliably conclude that, nor do they have mechanisms to measure that small a change over a century. The USA produces less than 18% of the World's industrial carbon emissions. To hinge such HUGE regulations and costs on such a tenuous "science" is truly reckless.
For your letter or email to the President, your member of Congress, perhaps a letter to the editor, an op-ed, a call in to a talk show, here are some
Please take the USA out of the Paris Accord. It acceeds National sovereignty and is based on "junk science." There is no proof mankind has endangered the Word climate.
The Paris Accord seeks to further implement the Kyoto Protocol the USA specifically refused to ratify.
The Paris Accord opens the door for a World tax and World-wide redistribution of industrial technology, facilities, jobs and money, from countires that have succeeded to those who have not. It would further gut American jobs, income, technology, industrial worth, and wealth.
Even more than the huge costs of this International bureaucracy, are the costs of the Internationally imposed and demanded regulations upon American families, businesses, communities, and governments.
This might be the most anti-American proposal ever sanctioned. The USA must get OUT!
If President Trump thinks NATO countries have not been pulling their fair share of costs, wait until this socialist scheme goes Global!
To impose extensive reporting requirements to an unelected international bureaucracy would have very negative effects and costs on governments, business and jobs, and implies a World police state and/or taxes to impose penalties for not achieving artifical and unproven objectives.
Climate is God's perview, not governments. Flora takes in CO2 and gives off O2; Fauna gives off CO2 and takes in O2. It is a match made in Heaven.
There have been numerous natural "disasters" that have given off much more CO2 in one incident than all mankind has since Creation. One was a volvano eruption in Italy earlier this year.
Man's footprint is miniscule by comparison. If we eliminated 2/3rds of the population - as recommended by some radical "greens", it would have minimal effect.
The Paris accord seeks to limit Worldwide temperatures to no more than 1.5 degrees C. above what it was before the Industrial Age. There are problems even with the intent. No one knows for certain what Worldwide temperatures were several hundred years ago, nor that such temperatures would be ideal now.
The World population has multiplied several times since the beginning of the Industrial Age. Growth of food must keep pace. Appropriate increases in CO2 are necessary.
The USA never approved this accord as the Treaty it claims to be, which requires the approval of 2/3rds vote of the US Senate. We are not legal partners to this audacious loss of sovereignty and the National Interest.
Think America FIRST, for a change!
Let's make America Great Again! NO to the Paris Accord!
According to alarmists, if the USA were to pull out of the Paris Accord the World Temperature might rise 0.3 degrees C in the next 83 years. Yawn!
The Paris Accord seeks to implement the Kyoto Protocol that was specifically rejected by the USA. The ultimate goal is control by the United Nations, of all land use, agriculture, industry, and population
Just think what might happen if the Nations who will not contribute to the UN, or appropriately to NATO, are given International legal authority to take even more
The plan is at least $100 Billion in US Dollars for the UN Climate Bureaucracy by 2020
And more from there!
What they really want is zero emissions."The agreement requires the world to wean
itself off of fossil fuels by the middle of the century," said Alden Meyer, the director of strategy and policy of the Union of Concerned Scientists. "We have to get to net zero of greenhouse gases by 2060 or so. That can be through a combination of reducing emissions and increasing uptake of carbon dioxide by forests and agriculture by natural syncs. There is no way to meet this goal without phasing out fossil fuels over that time."
If you eliminate all humans that would not be achieved. And if it were, the Planet would die. Flora needs fauna, and needs carbon emissions to survive..
++ Paris Climate Deal Would Kill 6 Million American Jobs -
I think it would be terrible for our country. We have the potential of losing 6 million jobs and it would cost $3 trillion. Really, I don't think President Obama had the right to do it. He did it by himself without the approval of Congress. One of the problems we have in government is we let one person have so much power that he could do something that could cost 6 million jobs and nobody gets to vote on it-I think that's outrageous. It kind of looks like a treaty. If it's a treaty, it should come to the Senate and be passed. But I think President Trump has the ability and he indicated during the campaign that he wanted to get rid of and get out of the Paris accord so we hope we will. We have introduced a resolution to send it to the president to encourage him to get out of the Paris accord.
President Trump promised the American people during the 2016 presidential campaign he would pull out of the Paris deal since it is a job-killer.
Let's make America Great Again! NO to the Paris Accord!
++ Republican Greg Gianforte has won the special election for Montana's sole U.S. House seat a day after being charged with assaulting a reporter. Gianforte apologized to the reporter he's charged with assaulting. Democrat Rob Quist conceded the contest Thursday to Republican Greg Gianforte. More
Election results show Gianforte won by 23,000 votes - 6% which is what the polls showed a couple days prior. Link The voters were not persuaded by media reports of assault. About 70% of the votes were cast prior to the charges. That is another problem. Early voting might properly be limited.
++ Hypocricy again, as Democrats allege Trump Transition contacts with Russia.
During his first presidential campaign in 2008, Mr.
Obama used a secret back channel to Tehran to assure the mullahs that he was a friend of the Islamic Republic, and that they would be very happy with his policies. Link See more below on Susan Rice leaks.
++ Here's a Montage of Democrats Confirming They Have ZERO Evidence Trump Colluded with Russia Link (thanks, Dover)
That Rice has exposed USA surveillance practices to try to undermine Trump is one of the most treasonist things revealed in decades.
++ Did Susan Price abuse her position for partisan politics? Ambassador Rice, did you request that the identities of Trump campaign officials, transition-team members, or family members be unmasked? Is it normal for high-level officials to request for names of political players to be unmasked in raw intelligence? Article
++ Susan Rice Was Not Alone In "Unmasking" Team Trump
on her first media appearance since she was "outed" as the persona responsible for "unmasking" members of team Trump, the WSJ provides two new pieces of incremental information: i) in addition to Michael Flynn, at least one more member of the Trump transition team was "unmasked
" in intelligence reports due to multiple foreign conversations that weren't related to Russia;
and ii) Rice wasn't
the administration official who instigated Mr. Flynn's unmasking, confirming there is at least one more
high-level official giving "unmasking" orders. Link
++ Whoever leaked Michael Flynn's name or any other names collected incidentally during surveillance,
committed multiple crimes because those names are classified information.
Under 18 USC 798, it is a felony to knowingly and willfully communicate classified material to an unauthorized person.
A similar law, 50 USC 1809, forbids the unauthorized disclosure of national security information. Three other statutes may also have been violated.
The Washington Post reporter who received Flynn's name described his source in a January 12, 2017 column as "a senior U.S. government official." More

++ Mooshell and Merkel Meddling as Barack Hussein shadows Trump - "On a day of odd political coincidences, German Chancellor Merkel sat down with one President she calls a friend and with whom she shares a political wavelength - Barack Obama, and another, with whom she has had a frosty start - Donald Trump," reports CNN.
As Obama gave his speech in Germany, he talked about "borders" in veiled terms because he is a wimp who can't directly confront Trump. He works in the shadows, planning the demise of the president, but we all know that Obama will fail. "If there are disruptions in these countries, if there is bad governance, if there is war or if there is poverty, in this new world that we live in, we can't isolate ourselves," Obama said. "We can't hide behind a wall."
Merkel is up for re-election, so she nodded and smiled with affection as Obama delivered his first speech since leaving office. Germans are sick and tired of Merkel's pro-Muslim migrant policies that have caused mayhem and bloodshed, and Merkel hopes Obama can help her get re-elected.
Obama and Merkel were in front of the historical Brandenburg Gate, a site that few politicians are allowed to use for a speech. Obama's lackeys pulled out all the stops to make Obama's sad comeback look like a triumph. This is where Ronald Reagan gave his most famous speech, demanding Mikhail Gorbachev to "tear down this wall," speaking about the Berlin Wall.
President Donald Trump was well aware of the shenanigans by Barack Obama and Frau Merkel. That's why just hours after Obama made those comments about the wall, Trump delivered a nasty surprise that put Obama and Merkel in their place.
While speaking in front of NATO, the president was dedicating a piece of the Twin Towers to be side by side with a piece of the Berlin Wall. At the podium, he turned his head and stared directly at Merkel for a good 20-30 seconds, which was a message in itself, then he said, "Today is a day for both remembrance and resolve" and that the attack demonstrates "the depths of the evil we face with terrorism."
It was quite a solemn moment, and everyone there knew Trump was sending the German Chancellor and her favorite pet, Obama, a crystal clear message. How dare they sit up at the Brandenburg Gate and preach for open borders. How dare they ignore the biggest evil in the world after little girls were just slaughtered by Islamic terrorism only 36 hours before.
Too bad Obama wasn't there because Merkel looked down, quite embarrassed. More (Tks, Lanny)

++ H.R. 2434 - College Transparency Act of 2017 - Reps. Mitchell, R-Mich., and Jared Polis, D-Colo., introduced to enable students and families to make more informed choices about education after high school.
The College Transparency Act of 2017 will provide actionable and customizable information for students and families as they consider higher education opportunities by accurately reporting on student outcomes such as enrollment, completion, and post-college success across colleges and majors, while ensuring the privacy of individual students is securely protected. Most importantly, this information will tell students how other prospective students have succeeded at an institution, and help point them towards schools best suited to their unique needs and desired outcomes.
The current college reporting system is overly burdensome on institutions, yet provides little practical information for students and families due to significant gaps in college data reporting. Under the updated system, institutions would securely report privacy-protected, student-level data to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). NCES would be responsible for securely storing student information, working with relevant federal agencies to generate post-college outcomes reports, and presenting the summary information on a user-friendly website for students and families. Furthermore, NCES is prohibited from sharing personally identifiable student information.
