The Scoop from the Coop - February 23, 2020
Is it just me, or does February seem shorter than normal? Even with the extra day, the month seems to be moving at lightning speeds. I am looking forward to Leap Day, though. Imagine all of the sewing we’ll accomplish!

We’re featuring a couple more adorable baby quilts in this issue, and a beautiful “memoir” quilt. Plus a St. Patrick’s Day project that has me thinking about green food!

Well, enjoy the week… and remember to slow down and sew every once in a while.

Happy leaping!
Peggy

New in the Shop
Sunny Bee Smudge
This quilt is very similar to the “Smidge” quilt we featured early last fall. This just has a second ‘smidge’ making it a “Smudge”! We chose the Sunny Bee collection for the fabric mix, and it is just so happy looking. The finished quilt measures 52 x 70” and the kit, which includes the pattern, is available for $54.95.
Baby Turtles
This cutie only uses 3 fabrics, but the fabric choice has just enough pattern to keep everything interesting! The fabrics lean toward juvenile, but the color palette leans toward rich. The finished quilt measures 42 x 54” and the kit, which includes the pattern, is available for $34.95.
Memoirs
If I could remember my life, my memoirs would look like this. So stunning. So rich. So beautiful. Dusty blue-green, rich yellows, rust, grey… this color palette really comes together nicely. The finished quilt measures 68” square and the kit, which includes the pattern, is available for $104.95.
Luck o’ the Gnome
With wee folk, wishes, and decorative stitches, the Kimberbell Luck o’ the Gnome: St. Patrick’s Day Bench Pillow has “all the joy your heart can hold!” We made ours into a table runner, which is as cute as can be. Leprechauns, rainbows, a pot of gold, shamrocks… the St. Patrick’s Day pillow (or table runner!) is an Irish blessing for every household! If you have an embroidery machine, this pattern is available on CD for $25.00, or for those of us who do not use embroidery machines, the pattern is available for $12.25.
'More Time for Quilting' Recipe

Since we featured a St. Patrick’s Day pillow today, I kept thinking about Irish recipes. Then I remembered this one. It’s not Irish, but it’s green!

EASY PASTA WITH PESTO AND PEAS

1 lb. pasta
1 lb. frozen peas
6 oz. prepared basil pesto
Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper

Prepare pasta according to package directions. During the last couple minutes of cooking time, add the peas. Drain and return to the pot. Stir in pesto. Add parmesan, salt and pepper to taste.
