Restore Illinois Plan, the following are reminders and news updates for this week.
Great News! Learn & Play to continue
After announcing the suspension of the district's Learn & Play program yesterday, today staff received new guidance from the state regarding Tier 3 mitigations, which will allow the program to continue.

'Cool' turf for Caleb Field
With the completion of the recent Laramie Park renovation, its ball field, Caleb Field, is now the first synthetic turf ball field in the United States to feature T°Cool®, an evaporative cooling technology that reduces synthetic turf surface temperatures by 30 to 50 degrees.

During warm weather months, synthetic turf temperatures consistently exceed 150 degrees. According to Penn State University and Brigham Young University studies, playing on fields with a temperature higher than 122 degrees is not considered safe. T°Cool offers an innovative solution that makes fields cooler, safer and more playable, without compromising performance benefits.

As an added benefit, T°Cool’s evaporative cooling solution for synthetic turf fields also reduces the coefficient of friction, thus diminishing the severity of turf burns and reducing the growth of harmful bacteria in open wounds.
