TWU's Center for Women Entrepreneurs Launch $250,000 Veteran Woman Entrepreneur Grant

The Center for Women Entrepreneurs has launched a $250,000 Veteran Woman Entrepreneur Grant program which supports women veterans in Texas who own their own businesses or are interested in launching one. 
Up to $250,000 in grant funds will be awarded in increments of $1,000 to $10,000 to qualified Texas women veterans who are starting or who have existing businesses.
The application for the Veteran Woman Entrepreneur Grant will open on April 14, 2021, and a completed online application must be submitted before 5 p.m., May 14, 2021. Winners will be announced on June 12, 2021, Women Veterans Day.

Celebrate Spring with ColorPalooza on Saturday, April 17, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., in and around Wayne Ferguson Plaza, 150 W. Church Street.

ColorPalooza is a celebration of spring - a family-friendly, outdoor event designed to showcase the rich cultural, artistic, and eco-friendly spirit of Lewisville. Attendees will experience a day of creativity, education, and art activities and displays in Old Town Lewisville. Admission is free, but there will be a $5 charge for the tie-dye station, as well as merchandise sales on site. Credit cards accepted.

New activities this year include a 360 Degree Digital Art Experience presented by CoServ, featuring local artists inside the Lewisville Grand Theater Black Box. Other new activities include Sand Art, Paint Your Own Cookies, a Public Art Scavenger Hunt, Art Cars, temporary art installations in Wayne Ferguson Plaza, a petting zoo, and Blackland Prairie Raptor Center will bring live raptors to the event.

Returning highlights for this year’s ColorPalooza include Chalk This Way, the popular sidewalk chalk extravaganza showcasing amateur and professional chalk art; a DIY tie-dye station presented by Kris Tees; and art demonstrations presented by PomBomb Media.

Musical groups The Vinyl Stripes, Mariachi Rosas Divinas, and The Grays Disney Cover Concert will perform on the Wayne Ferguson Plaza stage, entertaining visitors with different genres of music. Cultural performers will entertain festivalgoers throughout the day on the City Hall stage.
