Micro Matching Grant for Online Worship Start-Up

In the spring, the Congregational Development Committee offered a matching grant for churches to assist in the costs related to online worship.
The committee has decided to open the application process again for a limited time (deadline: October 31, 2020) for churches which either did not apply or applied for less than the full $500 matching grant.
If your church is engaged in online worship and have found a need to upgrade equipment or if your church is moving to offering online worship, you can submit an application. (Note: The application requires specific plans and budget.)

Promo 2 Prairie Fire

Prairie Fire grants

The first Prairie Fire Resource Grant is awarded to Rev. Shane Fredrick at Sumter UMC!  Their Education Director brainstormed buying three pop-up tents for the church lawn to house Wesley Band Meetings.  This Fall, they'll begin groups meeting outside.  Keep them in your prayers as they use existing leaders to facilitate these groups and may surrounding neighbors be curious and invited into fellowship and discipleship.

Creating New Places for New People

For a little fun, check out Congregational Development's video from Annual Conference 2016.  What new ways of church are you dreaming of?  Could a BBQ/dinner church or Minecraft community of faith be a reality?
And as always, the Congregational Development office seeks to offer resources to help our churches reach new people with the Good News of God's love.

Check out for resources to begin Prairie Fire groups and coming soon is Revolutionary Prayer and new coaching cohorts.
