Wine Tasting Fundraiser

SUNDAY, JANUARY 21st AT 6PM EST

For the past two years TIG supporter and avid wine collector, Gregg Silver has offered a virtual wine-tasting event as a fundraiser for The India Group. Those who participated in the previous events (champagne and red wine) sampled wines chosen by Gregg as he provided information about the origins, history and tasting notes.

Gregg has graciously agreed to share his encyclopedic knowledge of wine with us for a third year. This year’s theme will be white wines. Gregg will discuss four of the five most popular white wine grapes and how they differ in flavor profiles. We’ll be drinking wines grown in the most optimal vineyards while pairing our tastings with food.

Here is the list of wines you need to purchase for the tasting:

• 2022 La Crema Sonoma Coast Chardonnay – approximate retail price $19-25
• 2022 Allan Scott Sauvignon Blanc – approximate retail price $15-22 (alternatively a Cloudy Bay or Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc)
• 2020 Trimbach Riesling – approximate retail price $20-25
• 2022 Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio Valdadige - approximate retail price $23-27

Food pairing is optional, but it enhances the tasting experience. Suggested foods:

• Cheeses: Feta, Gruyere, Swiss, Brie
• Fish: shrimp, crabcakes, oysters
