< Quality Achievements in the Wound Care Center

Atlantic General Hospital and Health System strives to provide safe, error-free care through the prevention and treatment of skin and wound conditions, in coordination with the Atlantic General Wound Care Center.

AGH’s Wound Care Center measures quality metrics related to patient recovery as well as operational considerations that may affect patients’ recovery times. Through frequent contact with their patients, the Wound Care Center has been able to maintain cancellation rates consistent with or below the 12%-unit benchmark. This ensures that patients are receiving the quality care they need to treat their wounds or skin conditions, as it is proven that weekly care of wounds can reduce infection and promote faster healing.

Patients who have received treatment at the Wound Care Center have expressed their satisfaction with the quality of care they received through Press Ganey survey results. The staff treating patients at the Wound Care Center are making great strides in improving their patient satisfaction.

Join Us in Celebrating Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month/Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates Week!

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Colon cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in the United States, but is also the most preventable! Please have a discussion with your primary care provider about screening options if you are age 45 or above, have family history of colon cancer, personal history of certain genetic syndromes or personal history of colon polyps, or if you experience rectal bleeding, abdominal pain or a change in bowel habits. Screening saves lives!

In correlation with Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, GI Nurses and Associates Week is celebrated March 17 through 23. This week is a time of inspiration, celebration and recognition for all the hardworking nurses and associates in the GI field. Each member of the Endoscopy team is dedicated to our community and strive to promote the importance of screening. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Endoscopy Center and one of our staff members will be happy to assist you. Early detection is the key!

GET SCREENED - you owe it to yourself and your loved ones.
