Back by popular demand is the Salty City Writing Workshops! The Park City Library is sponsoring an upcoming, free workshop that will be held on February 29th from 10am-1pm.

Learn how to "show" rather than "tell" your story. Writers will also learn how to incorporate metaphors and vivid word selection. Come prepared to write and share.
Registration is  Required
Please register for this writing workshop by contacting Kate Mapp at 435-615-5602 or kate.mapp@parkcity.org by February 21st.

In addition, there are three upcoming workshops that everyone is welcome to pre-register for.
  • March 21st, 10am-1pm - Workshop focuses on character development and arcs.
  • April 18th, 10am-1pm - Workshop focuses on how an elevator pitch can help refine the plot and arc of your story.
  • May 16th, 10am-1pm - Workshop focuses on how to self-edit work.
Praise for the Workshop and Ella Olsen

This program is taught by Ella Olsen at Salty City Writing Workshops.

"Ella, I wanted to thank you again for the great experience I had in your class. The content was valuable and your weekly critiques were spot-on. You did a magnificent job building class camaraderie and fostering a positive environment."
About Ella Olson

Ella is the author of two novels, Root, Petal, Thorn  (2016) and Where the Sweet Bird Sings  (2017) . And is madly at work on her third. She served a year-long remote internship at the Friedman Literary Agency in New York City reading manuscript submissions,  teaches Historical Fiction and Manuscript Revision/Querying for the University of Utah's Lifelong Learning continuing education program, and spent nearly a decade on the  Board of Directors for the  Salt Lake City Public Library System (not to mention four additional decades browsing the stacks). She is a member of the Women's Fiction Writing Association & the Historical Novel Society.  She is represented by Rachel Ekstrom at Folio Literary Management.

Personally, Ella is the mom of three kids ranging from about-to-drive to about-to-drink, the mama of two dogs, and the wife of one patient husband. Years ago she graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Finance and after many years analyzing numbers she gave up her corner cubicle and started writing fiction.
