Have you heard the term "purple leisure?" You are probably familiar with some of the activities that encompass "purple leisure" and do not even realize it. Dr. Jon Donlon has done extensive research on what is considered "purple leisure" activities, which often include gambling and the topic of his book, cockfighting in southern Louisiana. His book "Bayou Country Bloodsport" dives into the shiftier world of cockfighting, exploring its history and cultural impact on southern Louisiana. He will discuss his book and his research on the matter at this captivating talk.
