Acts of Courage in Our Community

All (all of my stats professors at VT are cringing) of our members want the community to be the BEST. Every day in our community we have people who fall into the category of HEROES whether they serve as physicians, nurses, EMS, teachers, firefighters, or law enforcement officers. These people are very important to our community.
Research in the field of leadership indicates there are more heroes in our community. In fact, if you complete the sentence "It took courage for me to _______________________." Read More...

Mark Taylor, Master Taylor Entertainment
This month, we would like to put the spotlight on Mr. Mark Taylor from Master Taylor Entertainment. Mark is the owner/President of his company, and he has been in business for 17 years.
Master Taylor Entertainment is a premier event and design business, often partnering with Everlasting Memories Event Planning to offer full service, personalized event planning services.
Mark is the "Master" of providing people with extraordinary events that include but are not limited to lighting, music, video, and dcor - he's so much more than just the best DJ in Southwest Virginia.
Mark has been an active member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce for five years. He has served on the Ambassador Team for four years, and Mark chaired the team for one year.
Mark takes his learning and leadership seriously, and he knows that the skills he has learned from his investment in the Chamber of Commerce has helped his business to grow and reach greater heights than he ever imagined.
Mark will be the first member to tell you that the benefits you receive from the Chamber of Commerce will far exceed the time and effort you invest in networking and participating.
Mark participates in a men's group and mission's ministry at Fellowship Community Church.
He is focused on helping others in any way that he can...especially if it means making a special day come together to create an unforgettable memory.
Make a point to find Mark Taylor at our next Chamber event. He'll be the one with the microphone playing the perfect song, or he'll be the one offering to help.
We want to thank Mark for his commitment to the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.

Special Funding Opportunities for Businesses
Are you a small business in Montgomery County, Blacksburg or Christiansburg that is considering expansion and diversification of your employment base? Are bank terms challenging for you as a small business? The Montgomery-Blacksburg-Christiansburg Development Corporation may be the answer to your loan challenge.
The MBC loan fund is intended to supplement, not substitute for, private sector capital investment and small business loans from traditional sources. MBC seeks to fund small business needs where a financial supplement may be needed to bridge the gap between private investment and traditional borrowing.
Typically, the loan period is five years or less, making it a short-term loan. Funds can be used for the purchase of certain fixed assets, or as funding toward the improvement of real estate needed to accommodate the growth of the business.
For more information, contact the MBC Development Corporation at 540.382.5732 or email info@yesmontgomeryva.org
