Hi Larry,
As spring transitions into summer, families across our community face a whirlwind of changes. With the school year winding down, schedules become busier, routines shift, and the hunt for healthy snacks becomes more challenging for school-aged children. Meanwhile, adults navigate the sweltering heat and adjust to the longer days. Amidst these seasonal shifts, the importance of collaboration and serving as a beacon of support becomes even more evident. At Denver Inner City Parish (DICP), we recognize the evolving needs of our community during this time of transition. We understand that when we come together with other organizations, volunteers, and community members, we amplify our impact.
At DICP, collaboration pulses through the veins of our mission. From taking our services on the road to be on-site with our partners, to extending invitations to Food Pantry volunteers to continue serving communities on Saturday mornings, and dedicating time to connect with community members and participants, our collaborative spirit infuses every aspect of our work. These joint efforts not only reinforce the bonds within our community but also ensure that our services reach those who need them most, fostering empowerment and resilience along the way.
Keep reading to learn more about what we have going on at DICP and who we collaborate with to ensure our services reach individuals and families in need. As we continue to work together towards a brighter future, we invite you to join us in our mission. Together, we can create a community where everyone has the support they need to thrive. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to making a difference.
Thank you!

Collaborating for Community Nourishment | |
Our mobile food pantry program, a testament to collaborative effort, is bringing sustenance and hope to neighborhoods across the city.
Every week, our team mobilizes to three Denver Housing Authority (DHA) locations and three Denver Public Schools (DPS) spots. It's more than just a delivery service; it's a lifeline for those facing food insecurity.
Behind this endeavor are the dedicated volunteers who embody the spirit of community service. Whether they're loading boxes or simply sharing a kind word, their presence is a beacon of hope for those in need. A special shoutout goes to our friends at Laradon, whose infectious enthusiasm adds an extra dose of warmth to our efforts.
But it's not just about delivering food; it's about delivering quality. That's why we've forged partnerships with organizations like the Food Bank of the Rockies, We Don't Waste, and even local businesses like Walmart. Together, we ensure that our pantry offerings are diverse, fresh, and nutritious, reflecting our commitment to holistic well-being.
As we navigate the challenges of food insecurity, collaboration remains at the heart of our approach. Together, with the support of our donors and partners, we're making a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors. It's a testament to the power of community coming together for a common cause.

Partnering for Success:
Green-N-Grains and Munroe Elementary Collaboration
| |
This school year, Green-N-Grains teamed up with the teachers and administration at Munroe Elementary to host monthly luncheons for students with perfect attendance. In recognition of their dedication to attending school every day, the students were treated to the nutritious, fresh, and culturally relevant meals that GNG is known for, but in a special setting with delightful surprises on the menu!
"I really liked having food when we got to go outside and play! I liked it when they gave us grilled chicken and veggies with homemade mac-n-cheese, it was really, really good! The people giving us the food were very nice!" shared Alexia Carmona, a student at Munroe Elementary.
Juan Mora, another student, expressed his enjoyment, saying, "I liked the fruit salad we got one time and sometimes they gave us food that was different, and we got to try it!"
"We are so thankful for the support we received from the Greens & Grains food truck to help celebrate our students! Having the food they provided at the Perfect Attendance Celebrations not only made a difference but also had a great impact! Thank you!" said Norma Garfio-Saenz, the Family and Community Liaison at Munroe Elementary.
This collaboration between Green-N-Grains and Munroe Elementary not only provided students with nutritious meals but also created memorable experiences that fostered a sense of appreciation and joy within the school community that we were happy to be a part of.

This spring, our Parish Seniors program bustled with activity as we continued to support over 275 older adults in our community. From jewelry making to field trips, our participants enjoyed a variety of engaging activities. This month, we embarked on our annual overnight trip to Glenwood Springs, where our older adults explored a new town for two nights and three days.
Additionally, we were excited to announce that we took our programming on the road for the first time, partnering with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science to offer education classes directly in the communities where our seniors reside. Your support for this initiative was greatly appreciated as we strived to meet the diverse needs of our community
