According to the COVID-19 Dial, Eagle County is currently in Level Orange. With the current Public Health order that was amended on Friday, the Level Red for real estate changed slightly. It is much easier to determine which level each county is in with this system - and if you are working in different markets. You can see the restrictions based on each level for real estate listed below, depending on the color. With the current cases being very high in Eagle County, I would anticipate seeing us move to the “Level Red” in the upcoming weeks, which brings more restrictions for business. Bookmark the links above so you can be prepared. There is also a helpful video with CAR's Scott Peterson just below in the Legal News section.
Level Green: Protect our neighbors
No restrictions
Level Blue: Cautious
Field Services may operate, and real estate open houses must follow the Indoor Event requirements, including capacity limits.
Level Yellow: Concern
Same as blue.
Level Orange: High Risk (Current level for Eagle County)
Level Red: Severe Risk
Field Services that are not necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation and critical operation of residences and other Critical Businesses or Critical Government Functions are closed. Individual real estate showings are authorized, and open houses may operate with only one household in the property at a time.
Level Purple: Extreme Risk
Field Services that are not necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation and critical operation of residences and other Critical Businesses or Critical Government Functions are closed, including real estate open houses
Last week Eagle County hosted a community forum with Heath Harmon, Eagle County Director of Public Health and Environment, Chris Romer, Vail Valley Partnership President and CEO, Birch Barron, Eagle County Director of Emergency Management, and Will Cook, President, and CEO of Vail Health. I highly recommend watching the recording. They provided an excellent overview of what is going on in Eagle County with COVID cases.

Colorado Association of Realtors®' General Counsel Scott Peterson explains new COVID-19 risk dials in Colorado. Eagle is one of several counties across Colorado that has moved into the Orange (High Risk) Level.
Level Red has been updated to specifically provide that real estate showings are permissible as long as practitioners follow CDC and Colorado Public Health guidelines. To understand how these changes will impact real estate practitioners, please watch the newest Legal Bites.

SAFE SHOWING PLEDGE & OPEN HOUSES
|
|
Join us in sharing with our neighbors your commitment to the “Safe Showing Pledge” for showings and open houses!
VBR's "Safe Showing Pledge" provides additional clarity on industry and business-specific safety measures, and to share all the extra precautions taken for showing properties by following the “safer at home” guidelines.
|
|
The Division of Real Estate continues to receive complaints concerning real estate brokers not following state and county-issued guidance regarding COVID-19 restrictions when performing real estate activities. Please be aware that many Orders are still in effect and you should be vigilant to stay in compliance of those Orders for the safety of yourself and others.
Open houses currently are allowed in Colorado.
Please review the order below, specifically Appendix B & D. In-person real estate showings and marketing services must adhere to Social Distancing Requirements with cleaning and disinfection between each showing. Open houses must follow the Indoor Event requirements in Section I.H.4 of this Order (page 6-7).
