Julie Richey is offering the Laticrete one stop method during the CMA  Summit.  I've asked her to tell us more about the Laticrete One Step process.

"The LATICRETE One-Step Method is a process that entails latex admix being combined with grouting material, resulting in basically an ironclad "grout adhesive.  The 'One Step'method can be used for indoor or outdoor mosaics making it perfect for any mosaic;  a huge time saver for any project.

I love the consistency and innovation of LATICRETE products," Richey says. "The One-Step Method is such a time saver for mosaic installations, where the grout joints often are very difficult to keep clean. Before I discovered the One-Step Method, I spent a lot of time carving thinset out of joints in preparation for grouting. Happily, that's in the past

Thanks to Laticrete's "One-Step" method, using the latex additive with the Permacolor grout proved to have two values. In addition to having our mortar be the exact same color as the grout we'd be using, the latex allowed us to install at temps as low as 35 degrees F."

The workshop Julie Richey is offering during the CMA Summit will teach this technique. Below are some mosaics Julie created using this technique. Sign up for her class right away so that you can save time  on your next project.

"I use the One Step mixture as an adhesive for almost all of my mosaic projects, whether 2-D or 3-D. In the case of the Rooster and Hens backsplash I recently completed, I used Laticrete Permacolor Grout in Platinum, mixed with 4237, to adhere the sections of the backsplash to fiberglass mesh. When the pieces were dry, I shipped them to the client's home in Atlanta. I mortared them to the existing substrate over the stove, and used a minimum of Platinum Permacolor to grout the few spaces that remained in the mosaic."
