We were happy to speak with prospective families and share with them what makes Lab a special place to be!
LAB IN THE COMMUNITY
Since opening in 2015, Charlotte Lab School has held the belief that the community is our classroom, and should be used to provide a personalized, engaging, and authentic learning experience to prepare students for success and wellness in college and a global workplace.

This means that we take advantage of our location in center city Charlotte. While the pandemic has taught us to be creative in this approach, we are excited to get back into the community whenever possible for in-person learning or virtual visits.
A few recent examples:
Lab at The Market at 7th Street. Read this great article from Queen City Metro featuring Lab 7th grade teacher Ms. Greer and her Quest -Entrepreneurship students.

Internship at the Humane Society:
It took a lot for Ms. Toussaint’s Quest: It’s Raining Cats and Dogs to leave without adopting a new best friend.

Their hearts and minds are working to support the Humane Society and promote the rehoming of abandoned cats and dogs.

They’ve studied the issue from head to tail - now they’re positioned to promote the mission of Humane Society Charlotte and increase the awareness of pet abandonment, hopefully leading to increased adoptions!

Discovery Place Science In-house Field Trip:
Kindergarten students at Lab Primary had so much fun being meteorologists in our Discovery Place Science weather class. They used scientific observation skills to work out which season the tools showed. This helped them to create a Lab weather station.

OFFICE OF COLLEGE & CAREERS
At Lab Upper School preparing students for life after high school is an important focus. We were excited to launch our Office of College and Careers this Fall, led by Head of Upper School, Ricky Singh, College Counselor, Karina Capellan, and Advanced Placement Coordinator, Randy B. Stitt.

Visit the Lab College & Careers website, where we share a monthly newsletter with resources for older students and other information.
