CODING WITH KIDS
Did you know that the Library has a Coding Club? Have you wondered how learning to code can benefit your kids? Coding not only helps children navigate the digital world, it also nurtures creativity, problem solving, math skills and so much more. Coding teaches kids to experiment, to make mistakes and to learn from them.

Coding Club meets on Sundays from 2-3pm in our Makerspace. Your guide, Dr. Emily, is a computer science educator, award winning video game developer and Artificial Intelligence researcher. Coders do activities like making robots draw, solving Minecraft puzzles, programming interactive stories and much more! To maximize fun, activities vary weekly and no two sessions are exactly alike.
The Library provides the technology, which makes coding possible for those of you without devices at home. Learners of all ages and experience levels are welcome. See you at our Coding Club!
NEWS FROM THE FOUNDATION
It's Not Too Late to Donate to our Spring Fundraiser!

The Library Foundation’s April 21 virtual fundraiser celebrating World Innovation and Creativity Day and the Makerspace opening was a success! Thank you to all sponsors, donors, attendees and participants.

If you missed it, you can view a video of the event (the video starts with the recipe for the event signature cocktail onscreen for one minute). You can also still make a donation to support Redwood City Library Foundation projects including Makerspace, Bridging the Digital Divide, Career Online High School and more.

The evening started with the event cocktail created by Manuel Martinez, owner of LV Mar in Redwood City (get the recipe here). MC Sonja Shin narrated, and Library Director Derek Wolfgram made closing remarks.
