She Leads Advocacy Summit: Strong Voices, Smart Choices, Bold Actions
In partnership with the Philadelphia Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and the Charitas Foundation, Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey hosted the 3rd annual She Leads Advocacy Summit. A total of 85 girls in grades K-12 gathered online to network, engage in interactive activities, and exchange ideas about how youth can take action against racial injustice and systemic inequalities over the course of two sessions. Each session was designed to be age and developmentally appropriate, with activities including exploring literature that celebrated diversity for K-5th graders and deconstructing social justice messages in songs for 6-12th graders!

Our Ambassador Club is a program designed for high school girls to develop leadership skills and create lasting social change. Participants have been meeting twice a month for workshops including creating current and future vision boards and resume creation. The Ambassador Club also embarked on career exploration with workshops from Macquarie and Deloitte, as well as post-secondary exploration with virtual and in-person college tours!

Girls Inc. team gets together again!
Our friends at Deloitte led a Business Chemistry workshop for our staff. Led by Jessica Day and Associate Advisory Board co-chair Aimee Shafer, our team learned about different working styles and how to create a work environment that supports all of them. This was also the first time since March 2020 that all of the staff was able to get together in person!
