Oaklands Community Garden is a small organic garden, comprising of fruit trees and biodiverse garden beds, that work in harmony with nature.

Join the Oaklands Wetland tour


Did you know up this 'water factory' can clean up to 400 million litres of stormwater each year?


The Oaklands Wetland is home to an extensive array of wildlife such as waders, cockatoos, ducks and many majestic river red gums. Learn how this system cleans water as it moves slowly through a series of ponds, using natural processes to clean the water.

Marion Celebrates


After a four-year hiatus and an exciting makeover, the much-loved and free Marion Celebrates festival kicks off once again this Spring.


To be held for the first time at Glandore Community Centre, with the theme Many Cultures, One Earth, this festival celebrates our community diversity and spirit.


Activities include:

  • Face painting
  • Children’s storytelling
  • Line dancing
  • Chalk drawing
  • A main stage with song and dance!

Help shine a light on Aussie birds and the Australians who love them!


From October 16 - 22, just spend 20 minutes in your favourite outdoor space and count the birds you see.


There’s a built-in “bird finder” tool to help you identify birds you’re unsure of. Then submit your results using the BirdLife Australia app or the Aussie Bird Count website.

A lot of temperature records have already been broken this year and the Bureau of Meteorology has predicted this summer will be hotter than average.


Follow these tips to get ready for summer

  • Make sure your fans and air conditioners are working
  • Keep curtains, blinds and windows closed during the day
  • Never leave children or pets in the car
  • Avoid taking babies or young children out in the hottest part of the day.
  • Exercise early or late in the day

Could you, your friends or neighbours use it elsewhere in the garden?
