Poppy making workshop

The City of Waterloo Museum has partnered with Waterloo Public Library and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 530 Waterloo on the Remembrance Reflections Commemorative Project to encourage people to take a minute to pause, reflect and keep the memory alive.

Giraffe parade

Neighbours from the MacGregor Albert neighbourhood hosted a Giraffe Parade at Waterloo Park.


The parade celebrated the legacy of Dr. Anne Innis Dagg and her research on giraffes, who happened to live in the neighbourhood! Local artists helped lead design workshops for the giraffe creations and neighbours were involved at all stages to bring this vibrant idea to life!


This idea was supported by the Neighbourhood Fund. Applications are closed for the year, but it's never too early to start thinking about ideas for next year.

Celebrate safely with fireworks

Happy Diwali/Deepavali!


Fireworks are permitted for Diwali/Deepavali from dusk until 11 p.m. on October 31 and November 1, 2024.


If you're planning to use fireworks, use them on private property and away from wildlife and consider giving your neighbours a heads up so they can plan ahead.

New spray pads!

Two new spray pads are coming to Waterloo neighbourhoods, in time for fun in summer 2025.


The spray pads will include a washroom, shade structures, seating and be near existing playgrounds.
