Greetings Healthcare Professional

Happy International Women's Day!

The new year is well underway and 'things' seem to be moving back in the direction of 'normal.' This week the ViVE event is taking place in Florida and is followed by the HIMSS conference next week. We're keeping our fingers crossed that these two marquee events in the healthcare industry are harbingers of the future for in-person events.

For our part, we continue to engage online and work toward our own in-person event as 2022 progresses. This newsletter shares some of what's going on across those two fronts:

  • Podcast on Price Transparency - specifically Machine-Readable Files due 7/1/22
  • Live webinar on Predicting Member Terminations and Member Retention Strategies
  • An update on the 11th Annual Industry Pulse research project
  • An in-person event in May in partnership with The Healthcare Innovation Company

Read on for more information on the above and, as always, thanks to all of you - particularly all women - for being an integral part of the HCEG Network as we progress through our 34th year of “Guiding Executives Through Innovation, Change, and Growth.”

Wishing you lasting health and happiness.

Ferris Taylor
Executive Director
On last week's episode of WEDI's 'Collective Voice of Health IT' podcast, Matt Parker, SVP of Product at HealthSparq, and Denny Brennan, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium, discussed challenges and opportunities that health plans are facing with delivering machine-readable files (MRFs) by the July 1st, 2022 deadline. They also offered some examples and considerations on extending the value that MRFs can offer health plan members.
Predicting Member Terminations &
Informing Retention Strategies
The growth of individual coverage obtained via the ACA Exchange presents new challenges for health plans. In this first HCEG Webinar Series event for 2022, our long-serving sponsor Softheon presents lessons learned during the 2022 Open Enrollment period, shares how predictive analytics technology can serve to prevent lapses in coverage due to non-payment of premium and discusses steps health plans can take to proactively intervene and retain their members.
Tuesday, April 5th, 2022 – 11:00 AM PT / 2:00 PM ET
Learn more about the takeaways from this live webinar and reserve your seat today. All registrants will receive a recording and recap of the presentation so consider registering even if you're not sure you can attend.
Women's Day & Women in Healthcare IT
March 8th - International Women's Day
The HealthCare Executive Group celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and is fortunate to have four women on the HCEG board of directors.

One of our newest board members includes Van Wong, Chief Operating Officer of the Central California Alliance for Health and President of Women in Healthcare Information Technology.
The 11th Annual Industry Pulse – Coming Soon
The last 'normal' Industry Pulse research survey was completed in early 2020 just before the world and the healthcare industry was confronted with the COVID-19 pandemic. Since that last Industry Pulse survey, a special COVID-19 Flash Update to the 10th Annual 2020 Industry Pulse was performed. And now, after two years of operating in a drastically altered environment and with signals that the pandemic is (hopefully) waning, HCEG is preparing the 11th Annual Industry Pulse based on the 2022 HCEG Top 10 list of challenges, issues, and opportunities.

After two years of operating in an all-virtual environment, HCEG is looking forward to partnering with The Healthcare Innovation Company (thINc360) on their inaugural Healthcare Innovation Congress on May 22-26, 2022 at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor, MD. We’re working with the thINc360 organization to bring HCEG content and thought leaders to this new multi-stakeholder meeting.

HCEG is pleased to offer complimentary registration to leaders of health plans and healthcare provider organizations associated with the HCEG Network. See the agenda here and reach out to us if you are interested in participating in this event.
