Friendship is proud of our staff who are peacefully and courageously marching, speaking up and speaking out against racial injustice. The most recent acts of violence against African-American men and women have rocked our nation to its core. Tens of thousands of people of different races and walks of life are flooding the streets of Washington, D.C., cities across America and overseas since the horrific deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery. Our hearts are fractured. Yet, hope still lives. Enough is Enough!

Friendship has always been on the frontlines for justice, equality and opportunity. Our mantra - Friendship for Change - is much more than a slogan. It’s a belief system. A way of life for our professional community who give everything they’ve got for our scholars. Thank you for making our mission real by your actions. Keep marching. Keep hoping. Keep fighting for justice!
In preparation for a successful 2020-21 school year, we have launched the ReOpen Friendship staff survey. Your input will ensure our scholars continue to receive an exceptional learning experience. Feedback from every staff member will help us develop the best online and in-person school options based on the guidance of health officials and the Mayor’s office. Please complete the survey by Wednesday, June 10 .  Thank you!
Our world needs more Friendship and Gratitude ! Thanks to our Early Childhood Education team and FPCS Reggio atelierista Adia Harris, our littlest learners and their families virtually explored the meaning of community, friendship and gratitude through the lens of art, nature and self-discovery. Enjoy these images from our students expressing gratitude for their parents, teachers and other essential workers. #FriendshipProud
