In Alana's class last Friday night, as she had us moving into multiple variations working toward handstand, she referenced a story that she had heard recently of someone who said he wanted to know Spanish. He wanted to know Spanish, but he didn't want to learn the language.... Ah, there is a difference! How many times have we found ourselves in that same situation.... both on our yoga mats and off? Wanting to jump right over the LEARNING part and just KNOWING!?
How often do you say "I don't know" about something? I think that it's a wonderful thing to admit! It means there is opportunity for a next step... for something more.... discovering or uncovering a greater possibility.... the possibility of learning. The act of learning means we are not finished.
Clearly there is effort in learning. It's a process... the failures... the eventual triumphs.... which is why we sometimes shy away from it. Learning anything takes time and patience. But, it's usually worth it in the end, right!?
So, what do you wish to learn this week?
Namaste,
Kristi
