A Note from Scott and Marsha
December 1, 2022

Welcome back, you with the stretchy pants, and smiling faces! We hope you had an amazing holiday weekend and are feeling sassy. There is nothing more magical than the smells of Thanksgiving and the sound of laughter in the kitchen with family and friends. Scott was definitely feeling sassy after his long afternoon nap on our daughter's couch. How he was able to ignore four dogs running crazy and Halle patting his head is truly miraculous. I mean, who could use that kind of nap right now?

I wish I could tell you another story that doesn't involve a prank, but apparently I am on my pranking A-game this month. I can't help I work with people that provide so much material and can't pass up a sparkle of opportunity.
Speaking of sparkling eyes (and adorable faces) ... Boone and Brewer is a few of our favorites. Could they look more like their father Doug?
A couple weeks ago, my cell phone rang and it was Doug, our FGS designer, my buddy ... my nemesis ... He was on a jobsite with Jack, who had turned on the irrigation system to mark the heads for a landscape installation. The unfortunate part was Doug was standing directly over an irrigation head. You can imagine his situation.
Doug asked me to check his car for a pair of spare pants or exercise shorts. I started digging around in the backseat and I found a pair of jeans and a pair of underwear (at which I yelled, "OMG. Is this clean underwear?")
He was desperate and didn't even care. All he was concerned about was being dry. SMH. I folded everything up and left it on his driver's seat and told him he was in luck.
I walked back in, sat down at my desk, and my little lightbulb went off in my head. Duh. I ran upstairs to our imagination station closet, found what I was looking for, and ran to his car. I turned his jeans inside out and went to town rubbing the inside with the very glittery Happy Birthday sign I found. I carefully turned them back to their right side and folded them neatly.
A bit after Doug returned, I looked up to see him standing in my doorway, looking at me. "Did you put glitter all over the bathroom floor for me?" he asked.
"No, I did not. Why?"
"There is glitter all over the floor in the bathroom,"
"Nope, I did not put glitter on the floor. However, you might want to check the inside of your pants," I said, and gave him my best dead-pan stare.
He, of course, looked at me with his angry eyes and immediately walked back to the bathroom. He returned shaking his head and stormed up the stairs, leaving a trail of glitter. Mission accomplished.
The Garden Center has also completed their final mission of 2022 with all things red and green. We are decorated, stocked, and ready to help you find your perfect living thing or special gift for someone who has everything. Surely they don't have every plant!
