OLLI Lecture: End of Life Planning
Experience shows that trying to guess another’s wishes, even about trivial matters, is impossible. It’s much more critical to be sure there isn’t uncertainty about end of life preferences. In a free, public lecture on Wednesday, October 27, 7:00 – 8:00 PM Pacific Time, Sue Hagar, MD, family medicine physician and chair of Asante’s Primary Care Division, will discuss end of life decision making and cover topics including surrogate decision makers, advanced directives, and POLST documents. Click here to register and obtain a Zoom link for this program. The public is welcome to attend. Share this invitation with a friend!

Space is still available in this Wednesday’s program, “COVID-19: the View through an Age-focused Len,” presented by Kirsten Schutte, MD.

Many thanks to Asante for facilitating the Community Health and You series.
Make a Gift to OLLI and SOU through your IRA!
If you are age 70½ or older, take advantage of the Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) and direct your IRA trustee or custodian to transfer funds directly to SOU and OLLI—you can give up to $100,000 each year! The gift can count towards your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), in part or in its entirety, and can help reduce your annual taxable income. Learn more here (PDF).
Every gift counts! SOU and OLLI appreciate your support.

If you have questions or are ready to arrange a Qualified Charitable Distribution for SOU, contact Cristina Sanz at [email protected], or 541-552-6422.

Drive the Bus – Watch the Game
The SOU Athletic department has two beautiful 40' Raider buses and are in need of back-up drivers! Trips are usually on the I-5 corridor, with occasional jaunts to Klamath Falls, Eastern Oregon and Idaho, and take place Thursday through Saturday. Drivers are paid $17 per hour and receive room and board on the road. They also get to watch the Raiders in action! If you have some CDL experience and time on your hands, we really need your help. Please contact Fawn Jones in the Athletic Department for more information by email at [email protected] or call 541-552-6773
