Leesville High School Soccer Club to Hold Spirit Night Fundraiser on November 20
Leesville, LA – Leesville High School (LHS) Soccer Club will hold a Spirit Night Fundraiser at Mexico Lindo in Leesville on Wednesday, November 20 th from 5:00 – 9:00 PM. The Soccer Club’s Spirit Night Fundraiser supports both the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams at Leesville High School.

Families and those wishing to support the LHS Soccer Club are encouraged to visit Mexico Lindo for dinner that evening. Dinner patrons will be able to speak with players at the restaurant on the evening of the fundraiser as players serve salsa, clean tables, and generally interact with the community. A portion of the profits from meals that evening will be given to the Soccer Club to use for equipment and travel needs.

When asked about how the funds would be utilized, Sam Brocato, a Leesville High senior and fourth-year goalkeeper on the boy’s team, stated that the team would use the fundraiser to cover an array of needs. “We are raising money for a scoreboard, additional soccer balls, inclement weather gear, and various equipment needs…but the Soccer Club also needs funds to support the team during away games – paying for buses and food for both teams.” Additionally, the teams plan to utilize their fundraising money to charter a bus for travel to-and-from playoff games.

Brocato also shared that attending the fundraising night was not the only way to support the team. “It’d be great to see the community come out and support us, not only at our fundraiser night but also at our games and other events. We have so much pride in our team and where we are going, we are proud to be the Leesville Wampus Cats and we want to share that sense of pride with our community.”

Both teams' first scrimmages are at home on November 16, with the girl’s games beginning at noon and the boy’s beginning at 2:00 PM. The first official game will be on November 19 against Grace Christian at Ward 9 Sportsplex in Alexandria.
