From the Flight Deck

Dear Legacy Community Member,

Congratulations to Ms. Nieves and our Theater students! Our Legacy MS Theater's production of The Wizard of Oz received an Overall Excellent rating from Florida Jr thespians! This is an incredible achievement, especially considering it's our first time participating. We were just one point shy of a Superior rating, the highest honor possible.

This outstanding accomplishment is a testament to the extraordinary talent, dedication, and hard work of our amazing students.

Congratulations to our Honor Roll students! Our staff and faculty celebrated them at an Academic Breakfast and when we chatted with students about how they earned such excellent grades, a common theme emerged:

● Pay attention in class.

● Take good notes.

● Do your homework.

● Take your time on tests.

● Make up missing assignments.

For any Jet that did not earn a 3.50 or higher, you still can! We believe in you.

To ensure we’re observing state statutory requirements, specifically, FL rule 6A-10.089, and to provide our families with an acknowledgement form that covers all upcoming school-sponsored activities and events, please take a moment and fill out this Google Form to give permission for your child to participate in upcoming activities. The following events will be taking place soon and we don’t want your child to miss out!

During this time of Thanksgiving, I want to thank our families for their support this school year. I am most fortunate to serve among top educators and devoted support staff here at Legacy, but active at-home involvement is also vital to our students' academic achievement. Next week we will be on Thanksgiving break (Nov. 25-29) which is the perfect time of the year to get together with friends and family to celebrate and be thankful for all the wonderful people in our lives. On behalf of the Legacy Middle School staff, I wish you a safe and happy holiday. We will see everyone back here on Monday, December 2nd.

On November 5th, Orange County voters approved a renewal of our school district’s half-cent school sales tax that will bring in about $350 million per year and has, in the past two decades, paid to renovate 136 old campuses and build 65 new ones. Thank you very much for your support of our schools!
