adaptive yoga classes banner

After a brief hiatus, weekly Adaptive Yoga classes are back on! Sponsored by ACI and taught by Luke and Carole, certified Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga (LVCY) Instructors.
Adaptive yoga modifies poses found in non-adaptive yoga and is intended for individuals with limited mobility or flexibility. Since all adaptive yoga poses are done from a chair and are generally low impact, adaptive yoga is perfect for people with disabilities, including wheelchair users, seniors, and those with health care concerns.

WHEN: Every Tuesday for 8 weeks beginning January 7th from 1:00 to 2:00 PM

Learn how to prepare healthy meals for you and your family, how to have a balanced low-cost diet, read and understand nutrition labels, and compare calories of the everyday foods that we enjoy.

Class size limited to 12 people. This class is geared towards individuals receiving SNAP (food stamps). Everyone will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.

This new initiative being offered by the NJ Association of Centers for Independent Living (NJACIL) and the Division of Vocational and Rehabilitation Services (DVRS), is designed to meet the challenges faced by persons with disabilities whose goal is to obtain employment. ACI will be working with school districts as well as those who are DVRS clients in Middlesex, Somerset and Union counties. Programs and services geared towards adults must be referred by your DVRS counselor.
