Honoring the Fallen

Observed on the last Monday of May, Memorial Day is a solemn occasion dedicated to honoring and remembering the men and women who have sacrificed their lives in military service to the nation.

Originally named Dedication Day, this day of tribute began in the years following the Civil War, becoming an official federal holiday in 1971. Traditionally marked by parades, ceremonies, and the decoration of graves with flags and flowers, Memorial Day serves as a poignant reminder of the bravery and dedication of those who have served in the armed forces.

By honoring their legacy, we acknowledge the enduring impact of their courage and commitment, ensuring that their contributions are never forgotten.
