TRAA's Legislative Action Workshop in Review
If you weren't at TRAA's Legislative Action Workshop earlier this month, you missed out!

As the industry's only Hill Day event, TRAA members spoke with 25+ members of Congress and their staffers to address three key issues impacting the industry:

  • Supporting a Federal Move Over Law
  • Supporting the DRIVE Safe Act
  • Supporting amendments TRAA has drafted to weights and measures regulations (23 U.S.C. 127)

We reviewed the correct approach for making legislative change on the federal level from TRAA's federal lobbying firm Tremont Strategies Group . We heard from Congressman James P. McGovern (MA), Chairman of the House Rules Committee and co-sponsor of the H.Res. 373- the National Move Over Day Resolution. We held a Legislative Open House in the Cannon Building with Representative Anthony Brindisi (NY), Representative Chris Pappas (NH), Representative Jared Golden (ME) and Representative Cindy Axe (IA) . We gained serious support for issues that impact the whole industry.

And, of course, we were also able to fit in some fun with a private tour of the Capitol Building, a meet and greet, good food and more.

If you missed this year's event, don't worry. TRAA will be hosting another legislative event next year, stay tuned for details!
