ONEOHIO RECOVERY FOUNDATION LAUNCHES NEW RESOURCES, HOLDS MEETING

The OneOhio Recovery Foundation, a newly created private, non-profit corporation charged with distributing and investing opioid settlement funds to support drug treatment, recovery and prevention efforts throughout the state, announced the launch of a new website and social media tools to support the responsible, transparent distribution of information about the management of Ohio’s opioid settlement funds.

Through the new website, OneOhioFoundation.com, Ohioans may sign up to receive important updates from the foundation, watch past and future board meetings, access board documents, and monitor other important news. Additionally, the foundation will share important information and updates with followers as soon as they become available through its new Twitter (@1OhioFoundation) and Facebook (@OneOhioFoundation) social media accounts.

The 29-member foundation board has been meeting monthly since May to begin establishing the new organization—launching a search for an executive director and other staff, establishing bank accounts, attaining equipment, and developing governance policies. The most recent meeting took place Wednesday, Sept. 14. Over the next several months, the foundation will make regular announcements as it moves forward with fulfilling its mission and working with partners across the state in bringing needed relief, recovery, prevention and justice for Ohioans.

As a general reminder, the opioid settlement funds are being split into three different pots of money. 55% will go to the OneOhio Foundation, 30% will go directly to local governments, and 15% will go directly to the State of Ohio (Attorney General’s Office).
