                           Legislative Day – May 6th

 Wear Republican Red!

Dear NCFRW Members,

Jackie Weyhenmeyer, VP of the Capitol Region, has planned an exciting 2025 Legislative Day for us through the kindness of Representative Diane Wheatley, House Majority Leader Representative Brenden Jones and NC State Auditor Dave Boliek.

A box lunch (Turkey and Swiss cheese on white bread, chips, chocolate chip cookies and water) is available for purchase for $20, no substitutions, OR you are welcome to bring your own. Register or order below by the deadline, May 2nd.

This event is open to current members of our NCFRW Federated clubs. Let your club president know if you will attend.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, May 6th.

Schedule:

9:15 am: Enter the Legislative Office Building (LOB) through the Halifax Mall entrance (3rd floor door) and go through Security. Proceed to Room 301F, the House Majority Leader’s Conference Room, next door to Rep. Diane Wheatley’s office.

9:30 am: Meet and Greet with Republican Legislators in Room 301F of the LOB.

11:30 am: Exit the LOB out the Halifax Mall entrance. Assemble on the outdoor staircase where we will take our official group photo in our RED outfits!

12:00 pm: Walk across the street to the Albemarle Building, 325 N. Salisbury St. in Room 245. We will have lunch and hear from several Council of State members.

2:00 – 3:00 pm: Free time to visit legislators, visit the gallery if in session or walk two blocks to the NC State Capitol and take a self-tour. Day ends.

Transportation/Parking: Carpooling is best. Parking is paid (cash or credit card). The best lot is Visitor's lot #1 on the corner of Jones and Wilmington Sts. Jones St. is one-way, so cross Wilmington St. and turn right into the parking lot.

Directions to the LOB from parking lot #1:

To enter the LOB from Halifax Mall, walk north one block on Wilmington St. between the Legislative Building and the N.C. Archives. Cross Lane St., turn left and walk next to the DPI building on the upper level along Halifax Mall. Enter the LOB (3rd floor entrance). Go through security.

·      Legislative Office Building (LOB) Photo on the stairs off Halifax Mall.

·      Albemarle Building, 325 N. Salisbury St. – NC State Auditor’s Office.

·      Legislative Building (LB), 16 W. Jones St.

Security will check your bags, so no weapons or pepper spray.

Allow enough time to go through security at each building.
