The 2020 legislative session officially begins this Wednesday, January 8th. Starting Friday the 10th, we will be sending out weekly public policy updates to keep you informed on the status of priority legislation being considered in Richmond. In addition to these updates, we will be sending Legislative Action Alerts when warranted to encourage direct member engagement with our regional delegation to the General Assembly to include phone calls, emails, legislator visits, or testifying before committees. Your direct participation will be particularly important when the General Assembly begins to consider controversial bills relating to raising the Commonwealth’s minimum wage and repealing and/or weakening our current right-to-work framework.
The public policy team is looking forward to representing you in Richmond for what will likely be a very consequential legislative session. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns relating to pending legislation or anything else relating to session, please contact Vice President of Public Policy Terry Durkin at firstname.lastname@example.org or (434) 989-5089.
