Legislative Update

Take a moment and make a difference.

June is a busy month for legislators as they work to wrap up many initiatives before summer. Many issues need our attention. Please take a moment and contact your legislators and make a difference. We also ask you to pray for just solutions to the issues we care deeply about.

The Ohio Senate will unveil their version of HB 166 - Ohio budget - later this week (June 5-7). Senate Committee & Floor vote is expected late next week (June 12-14). Conference committee and final votes expected June 26-28.

Contact your State Senator. Put your faith into action. Make a phone call, send an email, write a letter, or plan a visit. Express your care and concern.

Please take a moment to visit the Catholic Conference of Ohio’s State Budget Webpage and read the state budget policy backgrounders.

Help end child custody relinquishment of loving families of multi-system youth.

Your voice is important this week as Ohio Senate leadership works through amendments to the Ohio budget bill. Loving parents have advocated that relinquishing custody of their child is a break in the family bond. There has to be a better way to access funding for the necessary treatment for their children. This is a human life and dignity Issue.

Please contact your Ohio senator and Ohio senate leadership. Also sign the online petition to end child custody relinquishment for loving families of multi-system youth.
