OHIO CHAMBER PRIORITY LEGISLATION HEADS TO THE GOVERNOR
On Thursday, an Ohio Chamber priority bill completed its way through the legislative process and now awaits the signature of the governor as the Ohio House concurred with the amendment added by the Ohio Senate last week.

OHIO HOUSE ADVANCES HB 606 WITH PROBLEMATIC AMENDMENT
The Ohio House of Representatives has passed legislation that aims to help employers who are struggling financially due to the coronavirus by granting them immunity from certain coronavirus litigation. However, thanks to the inclusion of a last second amendment, the legislation now exposes employers to runaway workers’ compensation costs.

COMMERCE UNIFORMITY BILL PASSES IN THE SENATE

On Wednesday, HB 242 passed the full Senate floor by a 23-9 vote. During the Senate committee process, HB 242 picked up an amendment to sunset its provisions in 12 months.

PROPOSED RULES - OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TAXATION
On Friday, the Ohio Department of Taxation released several new rules and amendments to others that are used to administer the Ohio personal income tax laws.

BROADBAND EXPANSION PROGRAM
On Wednesday, the Ohio Chamber delivered proponent testimony on House Bill 13 in front of the House Finance Committee. Passage of HB 13 will allow the state to begin to close the access to high-speed internet gap faced by 300,000 Ohio households.
