OHIO CHAMBER TESTIFIES IN FRONT OF UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION MODERNIZATION & IMPROVEMENT COUNCIL
On March 11, the Ohio Chamber shared recommendations to improve the administration of the state’s unemployment compensation system with members of the Ohio Unemployment Compensation Modernization & Improvement Council.

PRESIDENT BIDEN SIGNS STIMULUS RELIEF PACKAGE
On March 11th, President Biden signed the much-reported American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. This is the third relief package that has been passed into law by the federal government over the past year.
WIND AND SOLAR REFERENDUM BILLS RECEIVE SECOND HEARINGS
On March 9th, proponents of Senate Bill 52 and House Bill 118 gave testimony in the Senate Energy & Public Utilities Committee and the House Public Utilities Committee.
Work began on the new transportation budget with the first hearing on February 16th. The asintroduced budget included increases in vehicle registration fees, cuts to public transportation funding and language to make distracted driving a primary traffic offense.
On March 10, the Ohio Senate passed Senate Bill 9 by a vote of 25-8. The bill is now headed to the Ohio House of Representatives for further consideration.
CHAMBER OFFERS SUPPORT FOR EMERGENCY GRANT PROGRAMS
On March 9, the Ohio Chamber testified in support of Senate Bill 108 and Senate Bill 109. Both bills would authorize emergency grants to be utilized by adversely impacted industries by the COVID-19 pandemic.
