Governor Pillen’s food assistance veto!


On Wednesday, May 14, Governor Pillen vetoed LB319, a bill that ends the lifetime SNAP ban for people with drug felony convictions. (Learn more.)

Urge Congress to Increase Funding for the

Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism Today's global picture unfortunately mirrors past periods of intense antisemitism. Jewish communities are facing a disturbing rise in targeted violence, including firebombings and coordinated attacks targeting synagogues, schools, and Jewish neighborhoods, driven by antisemitic hate, which is at an all-time high. According to ADL's Global 100 survey, nearly half of the people worldwide hold elevated levels of antisemitic attitudes. Join ADL in urging Congress to provide increased funding for the Office of Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism so we can fight back against this rising hate around the world.

Governor Jim Pillen came to the Staenberg Kooper Fellman JCC yesterday, May 15th, to deliver a proclamation celebrating Jewish Nebraskans and the contributions American Jews have made to the U.S. in honor of Jewish American Heritage Month. He was joined by Eric Maher of Senator Pete Ricketts' office, James Wright from Congressman Don Bacon's office, and Secretary of State Bob Evnen.
