Sign JCRC's Statement Condemning UNO Student Government Divestment Resolution Targeting Israel

Last week, UNO’s Student Government Association unanimously passed a divestment resolution targeting Israel. Not only is this resolution non-binding in the State of Nebraska, it is not an act of justice, this is an act of pure hatred and division.

JCRC Omaha is sending a message on behalf of our community to all University of Nebraska chancellors:

We stand proudly with Israel. We stand proudly with Jewish Students. And we will not be silent.

Donate to the JCRC Omaha 2025 Campaign

JCRC serves as the bridge that connects the Omaha Jewish community with other communities across our city. We work tirelessly to advocate for policies that combat antisemitism, protect our rights and the civil rights of others, and protect the most vulnerable members of our society.

With your support, the JCRC will continue to create a more inclusive, compassionate, and tolerant society—one that stands firm against hatred, discrimination, and injustice.

Thank you for your support in making this work possible. Your contribution truly makes a difference, not just today, but for generations to come.

Antisemitism Awareness Act

On Wednesday, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee held a markup on the Antisemitism Awareness Act. After several unhelpful amendments were adopted, the committee adjourned without holding a vote on advancing the legislation. Our partners at Jewish Federations of North America are working with our partners on both sides of the aisle to determine a way forward and urge both chambers to pass the AAA without any harmful amendments.

Efforts to change initiatives OK'd by voters raise concern

"Even if (senators) are not directly attacking the whole process, I think this is a clear signal that they decide what ends up being the policy, even if Nebraskans vote on something that's quite a bit different," Geis said.

The Moral, The Political, and The Partisan: Jewish Community in a Partisan Age

Proudly co-sponsored by the JCRC and Jewish Federation of Omaha Foundation

As partisan politics continues to shape American public discourse, the Jewish community struggles to define the commitments we are meant to share with each other and to find ways to hold together across difference. How can we identify the kinds of ideas and ideals that should transcend what divides us? And how might we imagine Jewish community in a divided America?
