For the upcoming 2020 Legislative Session, I am proud to announce that I will be serving on the following Committees:

  • Insurance & Banking Subcommittee, Chairman
  • Criminal Justice Subcommittee
  • Education Committee
  • Commerce Committee
  • Appropriations Committee

I am extremely thankful to Speaker Oliva for entrusting me to be the Chair of such a vital Committee. I also have to thank all of the Committee members for their support and their eagerness to get to work. I’m excited to see all the good we can accomplish for Floridians!
Florida Chamber of Commerce 2019 Honor Roll
I am extremely honored to be named to the Florida Chamber of Commerce's 2019 Honor Roll! I am a proud supporter of Florida businesses and all the work we've done together thus far. I'm looking forward to we can continue to help Florida businesses thrive!

Thank you to the Florida Chamber of Commerce!
Regional Round-table with Senator Marco Rubio
On Friday, September 27th, I attended and participated in a regional round-table in LaBelle hosted by Senator Marco Rubio.

I was there to witness Senator Rubio's office present a Congressional Record to a great community restaurant in LaBelle. Afterwards, along with some other officials in Hendry County, we got together and discussed local issues impacting this community.

Thank you Senator Rubio for inviting me to be a part of such a great event. It's an honor to work with you!
Amendment 4 Informative Event
On Tuesday, September 24th, I was honored to join my colleague Representative Chip LaMarca, alongside Neil Volz, in speaking to members of the Broward County community on all things Amendment 4, and Returning Citizens and the process of getting their right to vote restored.

Thank you to the organizers of this great informative event, and to all of those who came out to hear up speak!
Tour of the South Florida Water Management District Headquarters
My colleague, Representative Toby Overdorf, organized and hosted a tour of the South Florida Water Management District headquarters, which is located in West Palm Beach, Florida. Several other of my colleagues in the Florida House and West Palm Beach community were in attendance to have comprehensive knowledge of the massive work it takes to manage Florida's water ways.

We received a tour of the facility, the command center, and even participated in an exercise to determine the best course of action for balancing Lake Okeechobee's water levels.

Thank you to Representative Overdorf for organizing this event, and a huge thank you to everyone at the SFWMD for hosting us today and giving us a firsthand account of all the great work you to manage the water in South Florida!
Hendry County Legislative Delegation Hearing
On Thursday, September 26th, alongside Senator Kathleen Passidomo, we hosted the annual Hendry County Legislative Delegation Hearing, a formal hearing to hear the financial and legislative needs of Hendry County organizations. This past October, the entire Collier County Legislative Delegation, Senator Passidomo, Representative Rommel, Representative Rodriguez, and myself, attended the Collier County Legislative Delegation Hearing. These Hearings give our offices insight and clarity as to what our communities need most. We then take those needs with us to Tallahassee, and fight to make sure those financial needs get funded in this year’s budget.
The month of October brings (hopefully) cooler weather, Halloween, and back-to-back Committee Weeks in Tallahassee. Stay tuned for more exciting news, announcements, legislative updates, and events happening in your community and in Tallahassee!
