Legislative Update - May 31, 2016
Governor Dayton signs 19 bills into law

Today, Governor Dayton signed nineteen bills into law. The full list can be found HERE. The Governor signed SF2626 - which ratified labor agreements and compensation plans which included MnSCU classified staff, faculty, and administrator, commissioner, and managerial plans.

The Governor also vetoed the SF588, the omnibus pension bill citing that the bill "contained only one piece of the overall sustainability plans, placing sole responsibility for reducing plan liabilities on current retirees." His full letter can be found HERE.

The Governor approved SF2963, the Legislative-Citizens Commission on Minnesota's Resources appropriations bill, with the exception of seven line-item vetoes. His letter listing the provisions not approved can be found HERE.

No announcements have been made as to whether Governor Dayton will call a special session. Thank you to those who have reached out to local legislators reinforcing the need for a special session to address MnSCU's bonding and supplemental budget needs.
