A political action committee supporting the University of California

Greetings,

Pioneering UC Research in Women's Health

Since 1870, women at the University of California have made significant strides as students, staff, faculty, researchers, and administrators. This Women's History Month, we wanted to highlight a few ways UC women have pioneered research in women's health.

  • Mobile Mammogram Unit Visits Skid Row Helps Expand Access to Breast Cancer Screenings for Women (UCLA)
  • Only 0.5% of Neuroscience Research Focuses on Women's Brains: UC Santa Barbara Ann S. Bowers Women's Brain Health Initiative is Changing That (UCSB)
  • Dr. Helen M. Ranney was the First Woman to Ever Chair a Department of Medicine (UCSD Health)
  • UC Davis is Evaluating the Impact of AI on Mammogram Accuracy and Patient Experience (UC Davis Health)

Parity in the State Legislature

Nationwide, only 1 in 3 state legislators are women. But in California, women achieved parity in the State Senate for the first time in California's 175 year history and are on the cusp of reaching parity in the State Assembly.
