Lego Engineers with Simple Machines

Explore the world of physics with simple machines including wheels and axles, gears, levers, pulleys, screws, inclined planes and wedges. Make scientific predictions based on prior observation then check to see if your prediction is correct. Advanced students will take their knowledge of simple machines to the next level with advanced challenges. The principal models allow children to experience the mechanical and structural principles normally hidden away inside everyday machines and structures. Each model build has key learning focus areas, vocabulary, questions, answers and further ideas for investigations. Models include a sweeper, fishing rod, free wheeler, trundle wheel, letter balance, windmill and lots, lots more. This kit does contain a motor. Math is an intricate part of each lesson.

Enjoy a "New Twist" on Robotics! This is ONE CLASS with the fusion of "We Do" Software and Mechanical Systems combined! Come join us for an exciting fusion of Scientific Inquiries, "We Do" Software, Lego model building and testing, as we explore the integration of computers, robotics, and motors to operate free-standing or programmed inventions using computer software. Students will follow schematics to devise and operate multiple robotic creations. They will also have ample opportunity to create and operate inventions of their own. * A tablet or computer is needed with the WeDo2 app already downloaded before class begins.
