Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine students went on a district field trip with other students from Skyridge, Orem, Pleasant Grove and American Fork to Mountain View. They heard from former athletes who experienced concussions and now have long term affects and a Sports Medicine doctor that evaluates and treats concussions. Students participated in a Q&A followed by the viewing of Concussion starring Will Smith, the story of Dr. Omalu, a pathologist that discovers Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy in former NFL players and his journey to educate the NFL and athletes on the risks of repeated blows to the head.

We had a lot of fun and learned a lot about concussions

Keeping Teens Safe Online

Stopbullying.gov is a US government site to help stop bullying. According to that site, digital awareness for parents is a way that you can help protect your teens from cyberbullying and other harmful online behaviors:

· Monitor a teen’s social media sites, apps, and browsing history.

· Review your teen’s phone location and privacy settings.

· Follow or friend your teen on social media sites.

· Stay current on the latest apps, social media platforms, and digital slang used by children and teens.

· Know your teens user names and passwords for email and social media.

· Establish rules about appropriate digital behavior, content, and apps.

Parents can also be involved by paying attention to your child’s device use: Notice, Talk, Document, Report, and Support.

2020 AP Exam Registration Critical Dates

IMPORTANT: Please understand that these deadlines and dates are firm and must be adhered to in order to take AP exams. If you miss a deadline, or don’t pay, you will not be able to take any AP exams this year. The cost of each exam is $94

Monday October 7 : First day to order exams in financial office or online at www.myschoolfees.com .

Wednesday November 14th: LAST day to order exams in Financial office or online.

Thursday January 15 : Last day to submit accommodations for the AP exam.
