While turning into the Mendon office parking lot, Kim Lewis noticed that there was a large stone out in the middle of the turning lane - one that likely came off of a truck. Kim pointed it out to Kyle Cornell and Brad Matteson.

Great job, Kim!
Thank you for looking out for not only your co-workers, but for community members traveling that road as well!

AGCVT's Burger & Brew Event
Thanks to everyone who joined us for AGCVT's Burger & Brew event. We had a great turnout, with around 75 attendees. In addition to our own crew, we were joined by people from Kubricky Construction, Casella Waste Management, Dimensions Fabricators, Markowski Excavating, as well as many local politicians. Everyone enjoyed good conversations over some delicious food and drink. Thanks to its success, we will be doing it again next year!

Safety Topic: Heat & Hydration
This past week was extremely hot across all of our jobsites, and with more hot weather on the way, it is important to remember a few things:
- Drink water before you become thirsty: once you become thirsty, you are already getting dehydrated. Replenish electrolytes occasionally with sports drinks.
- Speak up and say something if you need rest or shade. It will cause more issues if you overexert yourself to the point of getting a heat illness.
- Ramp up your work over the course of the week to give yourself time to become re-acclimated.
- Wear sunscreen to protect your skin if it is going to be exposed all day, and reapply as necessary.
- Avoid caffeinated beverages.
Treating Heat-Related Stress and Illness:
- If someone exhibits signs of heat stroke, call 911 and seek attention immediately.
- Move them to a cool, shaded area.
- Loosen or remove heavy clothing.
- Provide cool drinking water.
- Fan and mist them with water.
Can you answer the question from this week's safety discussion?
True or False: Heat exhaustion and heat stroke mean the same thing.
