Q: Why is LCF not open to the public?
A: This is the question we get asked most often, and we thank everyone for their interest in visiting our lemur reserve.
We're honored to be an Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Certified Related Facility, but, unlike a zoo, our lemurs are not on exhibit. They range freely in their two forests, which are approximately 7-9 acres in size.
Also, our reserve is research-focused, with visiting scientists, educators, and students at work in our forests observing and learning from lemurs in their natural habitats.
