Lender Bulletin 2017-16: Temporary Suspension of the HomeSeeker Program

Attention Lenders:

Due to the tremendous success of the HomeSeeker program, the $16 million allotted for the program is close to being depleted. The NJHMFA ILRS system will cease taking reservations for the Homeward Bound with HomeSeeker option when all HomeSeeker funds have been reserved.

The NJHMFA Board of Directors acted on Monday, August 28, 2017, to seek additional funding from US Treasury for the HomeSeeker program. We anticipate that HomeSeeker will have expanded counties but with a reduction in the amount of assistance to $10,000 per application.

NJHMFA will continue to offer and utilize the Smart Start down-payment assistance program to promote homeownership for your clients.

Please keep your eyes open for the bulletin announcing the updates to the HomeSeeker program.
