A Huge Thank You to Our Industry Partners!
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible industry partners NW Natural, City of Albany Public Works, and Hewlett Packard, who welcomed educators into their spaces during our first summer session of our Educator Externship Program. The site visit events are an unforgettable component of the educators’ experience. Industry partners play a vital role in shaping the experience and success of the externship program by providing interactive demonstrations, offering behind-the-scenes looks at various workforce needs, hiring practices, and growth areas in the public and private sectors through immersive tours, engaging hands-on learning, and engaging educators in conversations about transferable skills, industry trends, and entry-level career pathways.
Through these tours, educators gained firsthand insight into industry practices, sparked new ideas for classroom instruction, and connected with local leaders who are shaping the future of work in our region. It’s these connections that help bring real-world relevance to STEAM education initiatives, and bridge the gap between classroom learning and career readiness
