Here's your opportunity to tag along with this landscape's premier photographer as he visits all his favorite locations at the best time of day for beautiful pictures. Gary has been exploring the lake, its canyons, and the surrounding landscape since 1975 and has been leading photography houseboat trips for Arizona Highways and other groups for over 20 years - so you know he knows where to go and what to shoot! If you have ever thought about exploring this amazing lake that has been so little appreciated for what it offers photographers, this may be just the trip you've been waiting for!
Houseboats are a perfect way to get to Gary's favorite photogenic spots. Travel, dine, and sleep in comfort while experiencing wild Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Between land-based photography sessions you can experience the magnificent scenery from the comfort of a couch in the lounge or from the upper deck but always keep your eyes peeled for unexpected opportunities along shore. We stop for photo-ops!
List of Possible Destinations: (Depending on the exact lake level and weather conditions) Padre Bay, Forest Alcove, Confluence Canyon, Cottonwood Canyon, Cookie Jar & Weathering Pit Ridge, Pool Canyon, Rock Creek Canyon, Gunsight Butte and Canyon, Dominguez Butte, Cathedral in the Desert, Last Chance Canyon, Escalante Canyon.

Gary Ladd is the renowned Southwest photographer and author of numerous books including Page, Arizona: Hub of the Visual Universe, Lake Powell Unchained, Canyon Light, Lake Powell: A Photographic Essay of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, and Grand Canyon: Time Below the Rim. A resident of Arizona for thirty years, Gary has spent the last twenty-five years seriously hiking, exploring, and photographing the astonishing beauty of the Colorado Plateau, particularly Glen and Grand Canyons. His work has been showcased in Arizona Highways, National Geographic, Sierra, Omni, and Smithsonian magazines. A student of geology and astronomy, Gary's images are imbued with and reflect his intimate relationship with and deep understanding and appreciation of this magnificent region.
